The role of CDM co-ordinator (CDMC) has been replaced by a new role of “Principal Designer” under new regulations. The Principal Designer has the responsibility for managing the health, safety and welfare of projects from pre-construction to ongoing design.
The primary function in this role is to act as the Client’s key project advisor in respect of construction health and safety risk management, and manage the flow of health and safety information between clients, designers and contractors.
